Cub Country! (Part II)

Unfortunately, I myself couldn't make it to the second day, which was Jurassic Journey, but I do have a lot of photos. Since I don't exactly know what's going on (besides fun) I'm just going to slap them all up here!

Cub Country! (Part I)

Whew! This Friday and Saturday were very exciting and very successful! All of the boys that went were great, and we did a lot of cool stuff. Unsurprisingly, we have a ton of photos to post here. So let's waste no time and move on to the pictures!

Starting out in the morning, everyone watches enraptured as the staff give their opening performance!

Here's the staff, joining us in the pledge!

Our guide for the day was none other than Zorro! He started out by teaching everyone about maps, which our pack were already pros at.

Then we made some very cool masks. J.W. shows off his progress!

Next the boys got to drive their own
Batmobiles!

Everyone exercised their trust in a blind walk, where they relied only on their friends' advice for guidance!

Next was the obstacle course, where there were so many cool photos that I'm just going to post a bunch of them right here!

We were shown up into Batman's personal treehouse secret base!

And after that,t hey boys were very responsible learning to shoot with BB Guns.

The staff performed to a packed arena in the goodbye ceremony!

I hope that everyone had fun on their first day of camp! Day #2 will be posted right after this!

Next Den Meeting! (6-14-08)

Greetings!
Our next Den Meeting will be this Saturday (6-14-08) at 10 am.
We will be meeting at the LDS Building on Capecchi Drive. (Wasatch)

For our activity, the Den will be earning their Collecting Belt Loop.
At first, we'll be discussing the importance of a collecting hobby as well as talking about how much fun it can be.
Afterwards, I would like each Cub to bring a collection of objects they own and give a small presentation about it to the den. How they got it...Why they collect it...It's kind of "Show & Tell" with a purpose.
(This activity will also cover Wolf Acheivement #6.)

By the way, Leaders are encouraged to bring a collection of their own to show off!

Please inform me if you have any questions.

See you there,

Tom Z.

No meeting (06-07-08)!!!

Attention Cubs and Families,

Due to a Stake Primary activity planned by our sponsor, there will be no Den Meeting scheduled for this coming Saturday.
Instead, our next get-together is scheduled for next Saturday (6-14-08) at 10 am.
I'll be sure to send out another e-mail reminder next week.

But just to make sure, please remember that we won't be meeting this Saturday. (06-07-08)

One note about the primary activity -- all cubs and their families, LDS or other faiths, are welcome to attend. The activity will be to develop Family Home Evening kits. Family Home Evening, usually held Monday evenings, is a family time where topics involving LDS gospel can be discussed in the home, games played, etc. Although this will involve LDS gospel topics, it could be an opportunity to get ideas about how to adapt concepts of your own faith for family teaching opportunities, or to just see what we do.
The activity starts at 9:30 a.m. at the LDS chapel on Cappechi Dr (formerly Wasatch Dr.) and is scheduled to go until 11 a.m. Questions can be directed to Amber Takemori or Sherri Crawford (see the email list above for their addresses).

Enjoy the day off, guys. See you next week.

Tom Z.

1, 2, 3... HIKE! (6-1-08)

Hello everyone! First off, my apologies for the delay in this most recent blog post. The blog has officially switched hands, and it's now the responsibility of myself, A.D.L. Meg F. I'm sorry in advance if things are a bit clunky as I grow accustomed to the system.

That said, last Saturday was an exciting meeting! Corey Seuili of the Utah Utes joined us to help the boys learn the basics of flag football, and everyone did great. Once again, we have a large assortment of photos to show how great the boys did!

Thanks for showing up everyone! See you next week!
