9-21-07 Pack Meeting

This month's Pack meeting was one to remember.
Our Color Guard did great, the activities were informative and fun, and our Den received a ton of awards!

Here are our guys, standing tall, looking good and ready to go!
I was very proud. They remembered all their cues from rehearsal.

(Wait, aren't they backwards? Yeah, that was a small error on my part. Sorry.)

Once they posted the Colors, the Orator (J.W.) led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

After the Opening Ceremonies, the Pack mantle of Cubmaster was handed off to one of our Den fathers, D.L.

The Pack family gave him a very warm welcome.

This meeting's project and activity was conducted by the West Village Den leadership.
They did a great job.

We made a bird caller out of a block of wood and an eyescrew.

Everybody got a big kick out of that.
Once we were finished building them, we enjoyed a group bird call.

The activity of the night was a game of "Lava Crossing."

The boys had to use teamwork, balance and quick reflexes to make it across.

Here they are, guarding their precious footpads from getting snatched by a leader.

After the activity, it was time for awards!
D.S. (1st on the left) earned the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award along with the Immediate Recognition Placard with one bead.

S.W. also earned the CSOAA and IR Placard.

C.L. received the CSOAA for participating in the Den's outdoor activities.

So did V.Z., who got a IR bead along with his CSOAA.

The MVP for the night however, was A.H.
Along with the CSOAA and an IR Placard, our Den Bannerman met the requirements for his Bobcat Badge!

His Mom was so proud!

Sadly, leaders aren't allowed to wear the CSOAA in the proper place. But considering how much the Chief has helped us with our requirements, I thought he deserved some recognition.

Wait a minute? Where's J.W.'s pics? Unfortunately, my photographer at the time left the lens cap on when he snapped his award images. So to the proud W. Parents, please accept my sincerest apologies. I'll get him next time. Honest!

After the awards section was complete, the Color Guard retired the Colors and the meeting came to an end.

On to the refreshments!

I'm really happy for our Cubs this month.
Keep up the good work, guys.

Before I forget, there were two Cubs who didn't get an award because they were absent from the Pack meeting. Scouts M.D. and M.G.P., each of you have a patch coming to recognize all your effort! E-mail me for details.
